About

I was born in Seoul, Republic of Korea, the year before the first democratic election resulted in the Sixth Republic. My early life was spent in Hawaii, Japan, California, and Maryland before I joined the world’s greatest Air Force that would send me back to the ROK to serve with the illustrious 303d Intelligence Squadron.

After my service, I spent time in Afghanistan before returning to Korea to live in Pusan. My time spent as a DPRK analyst, working alongside ROK military personnel, and my time living with the Korean people has shaped the way I view ROK-DPRK relations. 2010 saw the sinking of the Pohang-class corvette, The Cheonan, killing 46 sailors. That same year Yeonpyeong-Do was hit with an artillery bombardment killing 2 civilians and 2 ROK Marines. The recent actions of the Moon Administration and the international push for capitulation to the North has inspired this blog’s creation.

Currently, I live in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and am no longer a member of the Intelligence Community. Instead, I have transitioned into the technology space, though my interest still lies with the Peninsula. I received a B.A. in Asian Studies from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County; and an M.S. in Cybersecurity Technology from the University of Maryland, University College. My non-DPRK related hobby is photography, and my photography blog can be found here.
